Wayne Hrydziusko

Wayne Hrydziusko

November 29, 1962 - December 13, 2019

In loving memory of Wayne E. Hrydziusko, 57 Wayne E. Hrydziusko, 57, of Jacksonville, Florida, died of natural causes on December 13, 2019. He was the son of the late Wesley and Germaine Hrydziusko. In addition to his brother Wesley (Windsor, VT), his brother Whitney & wife Jackie (Alpharetta, GA), Wayne is leaving behind many people, family & friends, that loved him. There are so many people to mention, I will say you all know who you are. Wayne was born on November 29, 1962 in Hanover, NH. He graduated from Kimball Union Academy, and received a B.A. from Castleton State College, a M.A. in political science from the University of Vermont, and a degree in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School. In addition, he was a member of The Florida Bar and completed Harvard University’s program in negotiation. Professionally, my brother Wayne served as a government manager and executive with the State of Florida in several capacities, which included his being director of cabinet affairs for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. More recently, he was an attorney at law, and served as an adjunct professor at Florida State College at Jacksonville, where he taught American Federal Government. A popular professor, Wayne’s student ratings included comments such as “Awesome professor,” and “Very kind, relatable, and understanding.” He enjoyed playing the ukulele, and exploring the state parks of Florida. Most importantly, I want everyone to remember Wayne as the kind, caring man who was happy to help everyone he knew, whether it was family, friends or people that he worked with. Always remember the joy he brought into all of our lives. I miss Wayne every day and am blessed for the time he shared with us all. A tribute to Wayne Hrydziusko is being planned at St. George Island, Florida sometime in 2020. Details will be forthcoming for anyone who would like to participate in the celebration of Wayne’s life.

The world already has a shortage of people like Wayne and I’m heartbroken it no longer has him. We worked together in State Government over many years, in several different departments, and he inevitably made the same impression on people: that of a genuine, intelligent, caring man who would go out of his way to welcome the newcomer, help others without caring who got the credit, and provide extremely competent advice. He was also truly witty (which I appreciated greatly!) and he helped me see the humor in many situations that seemed more troublesome than funny at the time... until he enlightened me. He will be terribly missed.

I didn't really know Wayne until this past summer when he stayed here for a month while cleaning out his parents house so it can be sold. We, my son Matt and I, got to know Wayne and hated to see him go. He was a nice fellow and a good friend. We will miss him and having him play board games with us. RIP Wayne.

Wayne was truly a one-of-a-kind beautiful individual and he would truly be missed. My first encounter with him was in the office of cabinet affairs and I can truly say he was a very genuine person who’s light shone brightly on everyone that he met. My condolences to his family.

Wayne and I worked together in Cabinet Affairs in the late 1990’s and we have remained friends ever since. I’m still at a rare loss for words as I process the news of his passing - my dear sweet precious friend. He was the GREATEST most supportive friend to all who had the honor of knowing him. Moving forward I will try to be a better friend to others, following his example. He was the dearest soul and will be sorely missed. Until we meet again .... ❤️❤️.

So sorry Wayne was a sweet and kind man. One of the best cousins you could have. I looked forward to conversing with him on Facebook as we lived far apart. My Aunt and Uncle surely welcomed him with open arms. We all loved him dearly.

My Dear Cousin - Words cannot express how shocked and heartbroken I am that you are gone. You had a heart of gold, a wonderful sense of humor and the kindest and gentlest soul ever. Highly intelligent with a thirst for always learning and teaching others what you have learned is but one example of your caring and giving nature and willingness to help others. If there were more people in the world like you, it would be a much better place. We have lost a truly remarkable member of our family, and you will always be remembered, loved and dearly missed. Rest in peace, Dear Cousin.

I was saddened to learn of my friend's passing. I worked with him in the Office of General Counsel and Florida State Parks. I'll never forget him teaching me to spell and say his last name. When you talked to Wayne, you knew he cared and I loved his recent postings about his dogs. I hope they are ok. So many DNR friends gone. Love you all.
